Dear Hayes Community,

Thank you so much for safely dropping off and picking up your children! I have seen
improvement in the parking lot and on the surrounding streets. This is still an ongoing area of
concern and I hope we all will continue to be patient and focused in the transport of our
children.

As we move closer to spring testing I am increasingly aware of the number of times we
needlessly interrupt classrooms. Through out the morning hours parents drop off lunches to
students (some on a regular basis) asking that Mrs. Miller let the student know their lunch is in
the office. Sending your child to school with their lunch would cut down on the interruptions to
classrooms and would let office staff focus on their duties. Thank you for helping us protect the
instructional minutes of the school day!

We will be saying good- by to our sixth graders as they depart for Science Camp next
Tuesday. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to experience a wonderful alternative
natural learning environment as well as building relationships with their peers, teachers and
students from other schools. Friday, February 12th is an adjusted party day, allowing the
students to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Our February break follows the next week, February
15th-19th.

I want to extend a warm invitation to all families to come to our Hayes Home and School Club
meeting  next Tuesday, February 9th. The meeting starts at 7:00 PM in our cafeteria. Please
plan on attending!

Sunny Thoughts! (Wishful Thinking!)
